Francois et Mimi 50oz Glass French Press

I am a huge iced coffee fan and there is nothing more annoying than using a regular coffee maker to make your iced coffee and ending up with watered down coffee. I recently went to a local coffee shop (not the big chain, but a locally owned one) and their iced coffee was absolutely delightful!! Of course I had to ask how they made it so much better than the rest that I've tried, whether at home or competing coffee shops. He told me the coffee was cold pressed and allowed to steep for 12 hours, using a french press. Well this I had to try!

The basic process is this. You steep the coffee in either room temperature or cold water in the french press and allow this to sit for 12 hours (or however long you see fit, depending on the strength you want. Then you simply use the press to press out the coffee grounds. Because you are not using hot water to brew your coffee, you are keeping the pure coffee flavor that normally ends up with an acidic flavor. Cold brewed leaves the coffee strong and smooth. A perfect addition to ice and cream.

I can't believe I waited so long to try this method but will never use a hot coffee maker again! The french press is the way to go for any iced coffee lovers! I'm sure it would brew wonderful warm coffee as well, that's just not my cup o' joe!
