We go to the beach quite often and camp. While in the tent we don't need a large spot light lighting up our tent like the fourth of July so we used this one recently. It is bright but not overly bright and gives off just enough light in my opinion. It's compact and easy to use. It comes with a hook on the bottom of the lantern so we were able to hang it inside the tent with no problem.
I've read some reviews that stated that the batteries are hard to change but I honestly had absolutely no problem at all. It's extremely easy. Unscrew the lid to the battery compartment on the bottom. Place the batteries in and when replacing the lid, light up the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the base and screw back on. I have no idea what others are finding difficult about that.
All in all it's a useful, decent quality, compact lantern great for camping. I wouldn't suggest using it if you're going to climb Mt. Everest but for our purposes it worked excellently.
