I was elated to be one of the lucky ones to be chosen to review Dr. Cool's insect excavation kit. This kit is perfect for the little entomologist or any kiddo with a curiosity for bugs. It comes with a green "digging" beetle that you dig into using the included excavation tool and brush. Inside you'll find three unique bugs preserved in acrylic; a spider, a scorpion and a fortune beetle. The first thing my little one said was "Hey that's like the bug on Jurassic Park!" 

Once you have the bugs excavated you can rinse them off and learn everything from what the bugs eat, where they are found, their sleeping habits and their survival skills and general cool facts about the bug. Like this one, did you know that scorpions have more than 2 eyes? Depending on the species they can have up to five more pairs along the front of their heads! Crazy.

The kit also comes with an activity book with everything from crossword searches to mazes to hidden pictures. Each activity is simple enough to decipher while still offering knowledge about bugs in general.

I recently received this jump rope by Naturalico to review. This is not your ordinary jump rope. It means business. Great for adding to your exercise repertoire. It comes with a portable nylon carrying case that you can easily store in your gym bag or purse. The rope itself is made of wire and though it is 10 feet long, is very portable. Due to the metal ball bearings you're able to jump rope at a faster speed than you would be able to with a regular jump rope. This allows you to burn calories faster. I've seen decals in friends homes but never tried one in my own. I have textured walls so I didn't think it would work. I was delighted to get the opportunity to review this one and find out once and for all. The decal I received is the family one you see in the photo above.

I was hesitant at first due to my textured walls, but decided to give it a try. The steps were very easy to follow and I had no problems at all. I am absolutely in love with my new Family wall and will definitely be buying more of these in the future!

I absolutely love the packaging this one came in. It's adorable. Aside from that, the curler is easy to use and doesn't pinch. It leaves my poor straight eyelashes curled to perfection. This thermometer is so accurate and easy to use. I love the size of the digital readout. The numbers are large and show the temperature almost instantly. I've used many thermometers that take forever, which is no good when you've got the oven open letting out all the heat!

The packaging is sturdy enough but I'd like it if the text on the package was a darker color. I could still read it fine but fear that some with eyesight trouble or color blindness might not be able to.

The extendable handle is perfect when you want to measure something in the oven but don't feel like getting a steaming facial at the same time.

It comes with a battery already installed so you can use it immediately upon opening. To save on battery usage, it is set to automatically power off after 10 minutes of non use. You can choose from Celsius or Fahrenheit, The max/min button lets you see what the last recorded maximum or minimum temperature recorded. It has a calibration setting that will subtract or add a number of degrees from the reading but I have yet to use it, because it has been accurate for me so far.

These laundry bags are much larger than I was expecting, which is a great thing! They come in a set of four with two different sizes. The zippers are secure and you don't have to worry about them snagging on your other items in the wash. They really do take a lot of the hassle out of laundry.

They are perfect for washing bras that you don't want to dry. I often forget to look for the bras when transferring into the dryer and they end up misshapen because they really shouldn't be dried. This bag is a perfect way to keep them separate in the wash and easily remind me that they're in there so I can hang dry them. They'd be ideal for any items that you want to keep out of the dryer.

These shears are an absolute must have for any chef. I hate chopping herbs with my "semi" dull knives. It never turns out as perfectly as I want. These scissors make the job quick and easy. I didn't have any fresh herbs on hand when I tested them so I just used some salad mix instead and the blades are very sharp and glided through the leaves effortlessly. They left the vegetables still fresh and didn't bruise them as knife chopping often does. Clean up was a piece of cake as you can just rinse them and toss them in the dishwasher. They come with a protective cover for safe storage. As an added bonus the pamphlet that comes with the product has not only detailed information about the use of the shears themselves but details on commonly used herbs such as basil, thyme, cilantro, mint and more. Each description contains information on the type of flavor you can expect from each herb as well as common uses.
